Rules

Racer Information

• A parental release form is required for anyone under the age of 18. If a parental release form is not completed and a parent/legal guardian is not present the minor will not be able to participate.

• Any ticket(s) or citation(s) issued at any RVD event be it from the DNR or local law enforcement will be the sole responsibility of each individual participant.

• Anytime that an official feels that a minor is unable to safely control the ATV they are racing at any RVD event the minor will be respectfully removed from the class. The minor will no longer be allowed to race said ATV for the remaining 2008 race season, however they may continue safely racing with an alternate quad.

• RVD highly recommends that all participants wear protective gear (i.e chest protector, elbow pads, etc.

• RVD is not responsible for any accidents that occurs on the event grounds which occur to any person(s) that may cause bodily injury or death. Lost, stolen or damaged property is not the responsibility of RVD.

• All waivers and forms need to be signed at each event.

Race Rules

• No refunds once the race has started.

• Numbers are to be displayed on the front of the quad.

• The driver must be able to operate their own ATV on the prestaging area, starting line, drag lanes and staging lanes or they will be disqualified from that race.

• Driver's have 2 minutes from the time they are called to report to the starting line or a loss will result.

• Before reporting to the line driver's must be ready to run. This means boots/shoes tied, helmets buckled, eye protection on and the tether cord attached to the body. Any rider reporting to the line with any of these items not ready will receive a loss for that race.

• Driver's will ride respectfully on and around all areas of the track. Burn-outs and hot rodding (i.e.wheelies) is unnecessary and will not be tolerated. Disqualification will result from that race.

• Jumping the starting line and crossing any lanes will result in a loss.

• Speeds in the return lane will be kept low.

• After finishing a race the riders will go immediately to the staging lanes.

• Upon finishing a race and a racer finds that mechanical assistance is required they may go back to their vehicle/trailer however, first they need to have someone stands in their ATV's place until they are able to return to their spot in the staging lane.

• Hands are to remain on the handle bars at all times during the race. A loss will result.

• 4x4 ATV's can run in Sport classes only in rear wheel drive.

• Class jumping is allowed as long the ATV is undersized.

• Only 2 people per ATV will be allowed in the staging area. One rider and one helper; the helper is for mechanical assistance if needed. In the Youth Classes parents/guardians are allowed for prestaging.

• Nitrous bottles must be removed from the frame in any non-nitrous class.

• Open riding is not allowed and ATV's can not leave the grounds once they have entered the gate. Leaving will result in disqualificaiton from all classes.

• All official decisions are final.

• Rules are subject to change and additional rules can be added

.• O.E.M approved helmet, eye protection and ankle high shoes/boots are required.

Quad Rules

• 4 low pressure ATV tires are required.

• Chains, studs and spikes are prohibited in/on tires.

• Chaining, cabling or strapping to lower an ATV is banned. Bolt in type lowering devices are allowed in all classes except the Pure Sport Stock class.

• 3-Wheelers are prohibited to run in any class.

• All ATV's must have a functioning muffler(s) or silencer(s).

• Adding weight to any part of the ATV is not allowed.

• Wheelie bars are allowed in certain classes. Must be of safe construction.

• If officials feel that an ATV is not safe to be raced, they have the right to remove the machine from any and all classes. The racer maybe given time before the next class to make appropriate changes to the ATV.

• All ATV's must pass tech inspection and class placement.

YOUTH CLASSES
(0-50CC & 0-90CC)

*Open pipes are prohibited.(after market pipes allowed)

*Nitrous/alcohol is prohibited.

*Turbos are prohibited.

*Aftermarket frames are prohibited.

*Must have and use a working tether cord

*Cutting(stretching) the frame for the purpose of gaining a longer wheel base is prohibited

*ATV must have working O.E.M brakes

*Extended swing arms are prohibited.

* Jr.-Pro production-ATVs are prohibited

*Weight reduction or modification to the frame are prohibited.

*Must not exceed cc limited for the class!!!

*Cylinder porting prohibited in the 90cc class

*Must have original O.E.M motor.

*Youth must be able to sit flat on the seat and have their feet flat on the foot pegs

*Must have original carburetor and airbox

*Must be original cylinder

*Airbox lid may be removed and exhaust baffle.

*Liquid cooled motors prohibited

*Paddle, cut, flat track, snow or sand tires are prohibited.

* If you don't see a rule for it your good to go!

Showroom Stock Class
(1 class only)

*ATV must be 100% show room stock however, cosmetic add ons are allowed body armor, handle bars, sticker kits, nerf bars, hand grips & bumpers.

*Gearing & jetting allowed

*Airbox lid may be removed and stock exhaust baffle

*Gearing & jetting allowed

*Tires must be trail/stock o.e.m size for that ATV

*Must have working tether cord

* Wheelie bars are prohibited.

*Race fuel/ Nitrous/alcohol are prohibited (93 octane and lower)

*Paddle, cut, flat track, snow or sand tires are prohibited.

*All after market parts prohibited

*4x4 ATV'S allowed but need to race in 2x4.

*Cylinder/Head porting prohibited

*Must have original 100% stock O.E.M motor (NO MOD'S)

UTILITY CLASSES

*Must have original O.E.M motor for that frame.

*Weight reduction or modification to the frame are prohibited.

*Open pipes are prohibited (after market pipes allowed).

*Nitrous is prohibited.

*Turbos are prohibited.

*Larger cams and valves are allowed.

*An aftermarket head is not allowed however porting maybe done to the the stock head this applies to the 4-Strokes.

*ATV must have working front & rear brakes

* If you don't see a rule for it your good to go!




SPORT CLASSES

*ATV must have stock carburators

*Drag exhaust or open pipes are prohibited.

* Nitrous/alcohol are prohibited

*Turbos are prohibited.

*Aftermarket frames are prohibited.

*Must have working tether cord

*Cutting (stretching) the frame for the pupose of gaining a longer wheel base is prohibited

*ATV must have working front & rear brakes

*4x4 ATV'S allowed but need to race in 2x4

*Belt driven ATV's allowed

*Must not exceed cc limited for the class!!!

* Wheelie bars are prohibited.

*+1 after market MX swing arms allowed (no drag or home shop made swing arms)

*Lowering kits are allowed. Must have functioning shocks (no solid struts); however aftermarket shocks are allowed.

*Must have a working CDI box an aftermarket CDI box maybe used.

*After market cylinder sleeves allowed as long as it is not over cc's for the said class (4-Stroke)

*A Lock-Up clutch is prohibited

*Override transmissions are prohibited.

*Air/Electiric shifters are prohibited.

*Must have and use a properly working tether cord.

*Aftermarket cyclinders are prohibited. Porting maybe done to the stock cyclinder(s).

*Largr cams and valves are allowed.

*An aftermarket head is not allowed however porting maybe done to the the stock head this applies to the 4-Strokes.

* Tires smaller than 18 inches are prohibited..

*Paddle, cut, flat track, snow or sand tires are prohibited.

*Weight reduction or modifacation to the frame are prohibited.

*Drag axels are prohibited.

*Must have original O.E.M motor for that frame.

* Stroker cranks prohibited

*must be o.e.m cylinder sleeve* (2-Stroke)

Shoot-Out Classes(Adult & Youth)

* Must be 16 years of age to race a Shoot-Out ATV over 400cc banshees excluded.

*ATV must have working rear brakes

*After market cylinder(s) are allowed but must have an O.E.M ATV crankcase for that frame

*Nitrous is prohibited.

*Turbos are prohibited.

*Aftermarket extended drag frames are prohibited.

*Cutting(stretching) the frame for the pupose of gaining a longer wheel base is prohibited

*Weight reduction of the frame is allowed

*Extended swing arm allowed

*Any form of suspension allowed(see rules for all ATVs for some exeptions)

*Must have working tether cord

* Hybrid MX ATV'S allowed as long as the motor is from a O.E.M off-road motorcycle & frame is based off an O.E.M or MX design (NOT Jr'S)

*4x4 ATV'S allowed

*Wheelie bar allowed

* Aftermarket A-arms may be used as long as the stock mounting brackets are used

*Must not exceed cc limited for the class !!!

*Junior Shootout ATVs may NOT have an off-road motorcycle motor must be o.e.m frame and crankcase

UNLIMITED CLASSES

*Must be 18 years of age to race a Unlimited ATV. The only exception is a Jr. UNLIMITED ATV

*Machine must be of safe construction

*ATV must have rear brakes

*Must have working tether cord

*Junior Unlimited ATVs may only have an off-road motorcycle motor as long as it is under 85cc or ATV o.e.m crankcase under 150cc (must be at least 10 years of age to race)

*One particpating Unlimited must be present to run any of the Unlimited classes
